About Artuch
Where the Mountains Begin
Artuch is the main basecamp for trekking in the Fann Mountains, sitting at 2,200 metres above sea level near Panjakent. It serves as the starting point for routes to Kulikalon Lakes, Alaudin Lakes, and the high passes of the Fanns. Even without trekking, the drive up is spectacular — alpine meadows, rivers, and views that open wider with every turn. A day trip from Samarkand gives you the full mountain experience without an overnight stay.

Do I need special permits for Artuch?
No permits needed for Artuch basecamp itself. Some trekking routes nearby require a GBAO permit — ask us.
Can I combine Artuch with Seven Lakes?
Yes — we offer a 2-day combo on request. Ask on WhatsApp.
Is the road to Artuch suitable for regular cars?
No. The road requires a 4×4 — which is why we only use Toyota RAV4 and Land Cruiser Prado.
Is there accommodation at Artuch?
Yes, there is a simple basecamp with beds and meals. We arrange it in advance for overnight tours.
